Embedded Firmware Engineer

AAMP Global is a leading manufacturer of in-vehicle technology. We are currently seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our engineering team. As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you are responsible for the research, design, development and validation of wireless sensing and telematics products, the next generation of in-vehicle electronic solutions and infrastructure.

What you are signing up for…

The position will be based in our Clearwater, FL headquarters reporting to the Engineering Manager. The person in this job will be primarily responsible for firmware development of after-market automotive electronic products in the infotainment, safety space, and vehicle telematics and sensing products. This includes wireless products and products related to vehicle headunit\radio replacement, audio interfacing, vehicle camera systems, vehicle-generated data, vehicle-telematics data, and\or smart device connectivity.

In this role, you will analyze product requirements, select appropriate technologies, determine OEM vehicle systems interfacing requirements, develop embedded hardware and software solutions, and perform in-vehicle testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product Management group to determine project requirements and priorities
  • Manage workload on multiple simultaneous projects with fast design cycles
  • Determine design elements by conducting in-vehicle research, such as vehicle wiring connections or CAN bus message analysis
  • Be solely responsible for a project, or lead or participate in a small development team
  • Interact with other functional groups, customers, and vendors to coordinate technical information and to contribute technically on projects
  • Design and develop firmware for microcontrollers
  • Perform board bring-up of prototype units
  • Develop device drivers and board support packages for custom hardware
  • Create product application firmware
  • Team with engineering technicians to validate product functionality
  • Create test fixtures for production testing of product
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies
  • Suggest, or be involved in discussion of, new product ideas

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar; 3+ years of progressive engineering experience
  • Experience with design and development of firmware for microcontrollers in C
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M MCU firmware development such as NXP\Freescale Kinetis or STM32
  • Experience with serial protocols and low-level drivers (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB, UART, etc.)
  • Experience with custom board bring-up
  • Experience with ‘bare metal’ firmware development and RTOS development
  • Excellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with peers in cross functional areas; work cooperatively with management
  • Familiarity with version control systems
  • Experience in a small R&D organization is preferred
  • Ability to self-manage, multi-task, and keep track of simultaneous ongoing projects including some customer interaction
  • Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and written
  • Ability to occasionally work extended hours; may include travel at times which can include evenings and/or weekends

Director, eCommerce

Our Retail Division has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, proven eCommerce leader. You will oversee a growing department of high-performing digital marketers responsible for developing and growing our eCommerce channels. Overview

A newly created position to support a division with accelerated growth, the Director of eCommerce will oversee owned eCommerce properties, advertising strategy (paid, earned, influencer/brand ambassador programs), and marketplace growth. You will work closely with the head of brand and retailer marketing, the internal creative team (video/photo/graphic design), and the head of product development. Additionally, the products are supported by a best-in-class, MECP certified technical support team. 

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience overseeing a profitable eCommerce business with aggressive revenue goals and oversight of department P&L
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure pro-active collaboration and strategic planning with operations, purchasing, business forecasting, and other key teams to ensure scalability of all supporting functions to align with growth projections
  • Work closely with the head of Retail B&M marketing to develop a customer-centric omnichannel strategy that fully integrates our digital strategy with our brick & mortar retail partner strategy
  • Train, mentor, and grow team members of all levels to help them achieve personal career goals and improve the execution of our digital plans
  • Align digital learnings and metrics with new product roadmap, work closely with the head of retail product management to deliver voice of customer feedback for product optimization and new product roadmap input
  • Oversee the owned eCommerce websites for content, performance, SEO, and on-going optimizations (leveraging standard analytics tools, Google Analytics, Heat Mapping, and off-website insights and learnings)
  • Oversee the execution of the multichannel advertising plan (email, social, influencer, paid display, search, brand ambassador, video, earned, etc), ensuring the customer journey is optimized from creative, copy, targeting, placement, shopping experience, to the post-shopping experience
  • Develop customer retention and loyalty programs
  • Monitor and leverage the changing trends of online shopping behavior and technology
  • Able to think big, but dive deep, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves and jump in and do what it takes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA a plus
  • 10+ years in digital marketing; 5+ years in a senior leadership position
  • Proven experience developing and executing on omnichannel growth strategies
  • Consumer electronics experience preferred, tangible product experience a must

What you are signing up for…

This position will be located at our global headquarters in Clearwater, FL, reporting to the Director of Marketing, supporting all categories and marketing managers within the AAMP family. In this role, you will partner with the brands’ Marketing Managers to support product marketing efforts with product lifestyle and beauty photography, and product videos (installation, talking head, training, box openings, and marketing videos). Additionally, you will be responsible for organizing and preparing files to the various specifications determined by our retailers.

 

Requirements

  • Highly organized and deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects, also able to adhere to a consistent file management system
  • Advanced understanding of digital photography, with an emphasis on product photography, to include proper lighting techniques using natural lighting, OFC, continuous and stylized lighting, composition, and exposure
  • Advanced experience using digital photography equipment for both still and video
  • Highly proficient in all relevant software (Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office etc), and experience editing both still photography and video both for color correction and photo manipulation
  • Graphic design experience a plus

The Social Media Specialist is a newly added position to the retail marketing team who will support our brand’s established social pages (Stinger, Phoenix Gold, EchoMaster, AAMP) through community management and content creation, to grow both engagement and reach. The successful candidate will be measured on their ability to foster an engaged audience through a wide mix of content, and optimize efforts based on analytics.

 

Who You Are

  • 3+ years proven experience growing highly engaged communities across multiple social media channels
  • Early adopter, adept at evolving with new channels and adjusting content as new opportunities and social media platforms emerge
  • Solid understanding of the types of content most effective on each social media platform
  • Proven experience writing social copy and developing multi-format content that drives engagement and loyalty (copy writing, basic design skills using apps and content from in-house photography and videography team)

Technical Support Specialist

AAMP Global is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join its global high-performance tech team! The Technical Support Specialist role fields inbound telephone calls, e-mails, and social media posts for installation or product related technical assistance questions from retail dealers, end-users, and consumers. This exciting role helps continuously improve the products through critical product performance feedback. The position is based out of our Clearwater, FL office and will report to the Technical Services Manager. Key Responsibilities:

· Field inbound telephone calls regarding product and installation assistance from retail dealers, end-users, and consumers for multiple brand lines.

· Answer incoming e-mail requests regarding product and installation assistance from retail dealers, end-users, and consumers for multiple brand lines.

· Assist retail dealers and end users with proper product fitment and applications questions.

· Assist retail dealers and end users with troubleshooting problematic installations. · Meet specific inbound call volume and e-mail metrics as outlined by the Technical Services Manager. Requirements:

· At least 3-5 years installation experience in the mobile electronics industry · Excellent verbal and communication skills.

· Ability to deal with the public on a daily basis · Positive attitude · Must be very proficient with a computer

· Close attention to detail.

· Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve Mobile Electronics installations and related items

· Must be very proficient with internet search engines in order to conduct necessary research.

· Must gain and maintain a complete understanding of the company’s technical products.

· Work closely with Engineering to help develop and maintain the product line. Required Education and Experience:

· At least 3-5 years installation experience in the mobile electronics industry · Bilingual a plus

· MECP Certification is a plus. If not certified it will be required within 90 days of employment

Software Developer

Summary/Objective:

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building and testing server-based products, and providing technical expertise to achieve department targets in product innovation and delivery. This position is committed to developing software and database schemas for our online products.  The primary focus of this position will be developing state-of-art high throughput IOT server software to capture, organize, analyze and present telematics insights.  Multiple skill sets are needed to fill multiple positions.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with the development team to design, develop and test enterprise software that runs on AWS infrastructure.
  • Design, develop and test multi-instance, scalable applications that handle large amounts of IOT data.
  • Design and implement database schema for managing account information and related data
  • Architect mechanisms to manage geo-spatial data linked to devices and accounts
  • Build and deliver enterprise applications for scale within containerized systems
  • Build and deliver full stack cloud applications with end to end quality
  • Develop applications utilizing automated unit and system test methods.
  • Participate in all phases of product lifecycle management
  • Lead and support design and coding reviews
  • Identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to improve the quality and efficiency of product applications and tools.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years developing cloud applications with Go, Java or similar high level language in a professional environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience developing in Go, Java, or React.
  • Experience writing server applications for cloud environments using containerized systems such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with relational databases, including designing complex schemas and queries.
  • Experience developing within distributed systems or a microservice based architecture required.
  • Experience with code quality analysis methods to help ensure the team delivers high quality code
  • Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and using certificates to manage many connections
  • Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills
  • Must work well in a collaborative development team environment.
  • Must be able to work effectively with staff and customers at all levels.
