Embedded Firmware Engineer

AAMP Global is a leading manufacturer of in-vehicle technology. We are currently seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our engineering team. As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you are responsible for the research, design, development and validation of wireless sensing and telematics products, the next generation of in-vehicle electronic solutions and infrastructure.

What you are signing up for…

The position will be based in our Clearwater, FL headquarters reporting to the Engineering Manager. The person in this job will be primarily responsible for firmware development of after-market automotive electronic products in the infotainment, safety space, and vehicle telematics and sensing products. This includes wireless products and products related to vehicle headunit\radio replacement, audio interfacing, vehicle camera systems, vehicle-generated data, vehicle-telematics data, and\or smart device connectivity.

In this role, you will analyze product requirements, select appropriate technologies, determine OEM vehicle systems interfacing requirements, develop embedded hardware and software solutions, and perform in-vehicle testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product Management group to determine project requirements and priorities
  • Manage workload on multiple simultaneous projects with fast design cycles
  • Determine design elements by conducting in-vehicle research, such as vehicle wiring connections or CAN bus message analysis
  • Be solely responsible for a project, or lead or participate in a small development team
  • Interact with other functional groups, customers, and vendors to coordinate technical information and to contribute technically on projects
  • Design and develop firmware for microcontrollers
  • Perform board bring-up of prototype units

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar; 3+ years of progressive engineering experience
  • Experience with design and development of firmware for microcontrollers in C
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M MCU firmware development such as NXP\Freescale Kinetis or STM32
  • Experience with serial protocols and low-level drivers (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB, UART, etc.)
  • Experience with custom board bring-up
  • Experience with ‘bare metal’ firmware development and RTOS development
  • Excellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with peers in cross functional areas; work cooperatively with management
  • Familiarity with version control systems

Software Developer

Summary/Objective:

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building and testing server-based products, and providing technical expertise to achieve department targets in product innovation and delivery. This position is committed to developing software and database schemas for our online products.  The primary focus of this position will be developing state-of-art high throughput IOT server software to capture, organize, analyze and present telematics insights.  Multiple skill sets are needed to fill multiple positions.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with the development team to design, develop and test enterprise software that runs on AWS infrastructure.
  • Design, develop and test multi-instance, scalable applications that handle large amounts of IOT data.
  • Design and implement database schema for managing account information and related data
  • Architect mechanisms to manage geo-spatial data linked to devices and accounts
  • Build and deliver enterprise applications for scale within containerized systems
  • Build and deliver full stack cloud applications with end to end quality
  • Develop applications utilizing automated unit and system test methods.

Procurement Engineer

Summary/Objective:

 

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for the design and general engineering support for all current AAMP Global products manufactured with global outsourcing suppliers.  This position has a thorough understanding of simple and complex modifications for components associated with ongoing and new product lines.  The Procurement Engineer prepares, reviews, and negotiates all contracts and purchase orders in relation to new product development at AAMP Global.  This position works directly with the AAMP Global projects teams and engineers to develop relationships with AAMP’s global suppliers.  This role is responsible for selecting the best suppliers and drive the release of products and components to ensure project timelines are met.  This position has a thorough understanding of basic electronic components and concepts. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•  Develop new and existing relationships with AAMP’s suppliers.

•  Acts as a technical link between operations and R&D for all AAMP products

•  Manage electrical component substitutions as needed.

•  Create basic submittal drawing and documentation for quoting purposes.

•  Work closely with engineering to create and maintain BOM.

Telematics Sales Manager

Summary/Objective:

AAMP Global is seeking an experienced Sales Manager for a rapidly growing telematics division.  The Telematics Sales Manager is responsible for developing and fostering relationships with new and existing AAMP and M2M in Motion customers. This position increases sales revenue, trains consumers, and channel partners on products while acting as an ambassador of AAMP.  Responsible for developing customer and channel partner relationships that promote retention and loyalty by working closely with customers to ensure they are satisfied with the services they receive and provide feedback to leadership on areas to improve upon.  Work in tandem with technical support, product, engineering, and leadership to ensure customer needs are addressed in a timely manner.  

The role develops sales strategies that promote M2M in Motion and AAMP brands to achieve increased sales and profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Maintain and increase the company’s domestic sales for all AAMP’s telematics product lines.

• Cultivate positive contact with new and existing customers with the intent to favorably develop the business relationship.

Telematics Quality Assurance Manager

Summary/Objective:

The Telematics Quality Assurance Manager for AAMP Global is responsible for managing all quality initiatives to raise the performance of AAMP’s telematics division.  This role ensures quality control in the design, implementation, and testing of AAMP’s telematics products by working directly with products and using the customer-facing tools and interfaces.  This quality control applies to new and returned products. The Telematics Quality Assurance Manager also fields inbound escalation telephone calls and e-mail for installation or product-related technical assistance from customers.  This role helps continuously improve the products through critical product performance feedback and is a critical team member for UI deliverable needs as it relates to AAMP customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, execute and update test plans for telematics products and features in the telematics platform.

• Ensure that standards for quality assurance are established and achieved in all projects.

• Track pre and post-release quality metrics and identify top drivers and potential projects.

• Analyze the performance of the telematics software and document through Jira any incorrect behaviors.

• Test telematics hardware with the software platform and document through Jira any incorrect behaviors.

• Product failure analysis and corrective action follow up with suppliers or internal organization.

• Communication with other departments and report on results and drivers of warranty metrics

• Assist with proper product fitment and applications questions.

• Troubleshoot problematic installations as needed by consumer end-users.

• Assist with manufacturer relationships for device issues post-integration.

Application Developer

Summary/Objective:

AAMP Global is currently seeking a versatile application developer with a passion for high-quality and extremely performant software.  He/she will assist with the design, development, customization, and support of our NetSuite ERP system, Celigo integrations, and eCommerce platforms.  The right individual will have an aptitude to work independently, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and serve in various capacities such as custom coder, integration developer, SQL engineer, DBA, etc.  You may also be assigned to perform other duties and responsibilities outside of core development as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage specific modules within NetSuite (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, etc.) and be the SPOC for future enhancements, performing the development and working with/managing other 3rd party developers to enhance functionality.

• Maintain and support all 3rd party interfaces and NetSuite partners connected to the core system (via Celigo and other APIs)

• Help oversee and develop AAMP Global’s website and eCommerce platforms developed via 3rd part platforms (Shopify), custom and AWS hosted (WordPress) and Suite Commerce Advanced (SCA)

• Help build AAMP Global’s development standards and best practices, functional/technical design documents, secure coding and test-driven development standards, etc.

• Define IT processes across the company, improving operations, eliminating redundancies and maximizing efficiency.

• Address escalated Helpdesk tickets in a timely fashion requiring responsive application changes.

• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a NetSuite environment and configuring/developing multiple ERP modules.

• Experience integrating various IT systems and 3rd party applications into NetSuite.

• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) having a focus on high quality and bug-free code.

Sales Coordinator

Summary/Objective:

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for providing high-level customer service to both external and internal customers.  This role will be responsible for efficiently entering orders, monitoring purchase orders and coordinating fleet vehicle retro-fits of company products nationally. This position works directly with EchoMaster Fleet Production Manager and Director of Wire Harness Production to ensure wire harness creation and shipment details and shipment dates. This position works with the Director of Wire Harness Production to create and manage SOP processes for the EchoMaster Fleet facility.

• Monitor incoming purchase orders from leasing companies.

• Accurately enter box and harness orders @ EFS

• Work across functions to effectively manage deadlines.

• Coordinating fleet vehicle retro-fits of company products nationally

• Contact national installation base for labor quotes of customer specified products.

• Describe in detail the work required to installers.

• Negotiate a fair labor rate.

• Supply information to sales managers for quoting.
