Embedded Firmware Engineer

AAMP Global is a leading manufacturer of in-vehicle technology. We are currently seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our engineering team. As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you are responsible for the research, design, development and validation of wireless sensing and telematics products, the next generation of in-vehicle electronic solutions and infrastructure.

What you are signing up for…

The position will be based in our Clearwater, FL headquarters reporting to the Engineering Manager. The person in this job will be primarily responsible for firmware development of after-market automotive electronic products in the infotainment, safety space, and vehicle telematics and sensing products. This includes wireless products and products related to vehicle headunit\radio replacement, audio interfacing, vehicle camera systems, vehicle-generated data, vehicle-telematics data, and\or smart device connectivity.

In this role, you will analyze product requirements, select appropriate technologies, determine OEM vehicle systems interfacing requirements, develop embedded hardware and software solutions, and perform in-vehicle testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product Management group to determine project requirements and priorities
  • Manage workload on multiple simultaneous projects with fast design cycles
  • Determine design elements by conducting in-vehicle research, such as vehicle wiring connections or CAN bus message analysis
  • Be solely responsible for a project, or lead or participate in a small development team
  • Interact with other functional groups, customers, and vendors to coordinate technical information and to contribute technically on projects
  • Design and develop firmware for microcontrollers
  • Perform board bring-up of prototype units
  • Develop device drivers and board support packages for custom hardware
  • Create product application firmware
  • Team with engineering technicians to validate product functionality
  • Create test fixtures for production testing of product
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies
  • Suggest, or be involved in discussion of, new product ideas


  • An undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar; 3+ years of progressive engineering experience
  • Experience with design and development of firmware for microcontrollers in C
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M MCU firmware development such as NXP\Freescale Kinetis or STM32
  • Experience with serial protocols and low-level drivers (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB, UART, etc.)
  • Experience with custom board bring-up
  • Experience with ‘bare metal’ firmware development and RTOS development
  • Excellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with peers in cross functional areas; work cooperatively with management
  • Familiarity with version control systems
  • Experience in a small R&D organization is preferred
  • Ability to self-manage, multi-task, and keep track of simultaneous ongoing projects including some customer interaction
  • Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and written
  • Ability to occasionally work extended hours; may include travel at times which can include evenings and/or weekends
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License

Preferred Experience

You will be part of a multi-functional engineering team, with opportunities to work in many disciplines. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred, but not required:

Sales Coordinator


The Sales Coordinator is responsible for providing high-level customer service to both external and internal customers.  This role will be responsible for efficiently entering orders, monitoring purchase orders and coordinating fleet vehicle retro-fits of company products nationally. This position works directly with EchoMaster Fleet Production Manager and Director of Wire Harness Production to ensure wire harness creation and shipment details and shipment dates. This position works with the Director of Wire Harness Production to create and manage SOP processes for the EchoMaster Fleet facility.


Key Responsibilities:


• Monitor incoming purchase orders from leasing companies.

• Accurately enter box and harness orders @ EFS

• Work across functions to effectively manage deadlines.

• Coordinating fleet vehicle retro-fits of company products nationally

• Contact national installation base for labor quotes of customer specified products.

• Describe in detail the work required to installers.

• Negotiate a fair labor rate.

• Supply information to sales managers for quoting.

• Data entry of quotes matched to purchase orders.

• Weekly follow-up with drivers and installers on progress of installation completion

• Payment of installers for completed work in conjunction with accounting team.

• Display a firm understanding of company merchandise and part numbers.

• Assist in daily inventory cycle counting as needed.

• Monitor location of parts in the warehouse.

• Manage sales acknowledgements, tracking updates, and delivery updates.

• Create sample orders for Product Development.

• Responsible for RA questions and for coordinating field work for Product Development.

• Ability to recognize and address inventory shortages for upcoming shipments and processing Return Material Authorizations.

• Work closely with sales teams to effectively communicate with customers.

• Exceed customer service expectations with timely and accurate responses to requests.

VP of Manufacturing & Distribution


The VP of Manufacturing & Distribution is responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of AAMP Global’s products. This position requires an operations expert who can create an efficient US manufacturing and distribution network to support our high customer service standards. The role will oversee all of AAMP Global’s U.S. DC’s daily functions including manufacturing, shipping, receiving, inventory management, logistics, production & compliance efforts. They will achieve this with a focus on fast, accurate shipments to our customers while protecting our bottom line through accurate inventory control, excellent logistics partners and efficient shipping and receiving practices. The VP of Manufacturing & Distribution must be proficient in the use of plastic injection molding machines and uphold the safety standards of AAMP Global.


Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the manufacturing of products, ensuring production, performance and quality standards are consistently met.

• Gain understanding of our customer needs and internal processes to develop and direct the vision for our distribution network.

• Lead the Warehouse operations managers to ensure the company’s operational priorities are being met.

• Overseeing the storage, transportation & delivery of goods in and out of all warehouse facilities.

• Assess distribution centers locations and practices with a goal to service our customers cost effectively.

• Ensure a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal, state and OSHA regulations are met at each location.

• Manage compliance requirements on both product and trade level.

• Negotiate all contracts related to logistics providers.

• Provide facilities management for all U.S. warehouses: organize space efficiently to accommodate all needs, lead contract negotiations for this office & warehouse space.

• Working collaboratively with the other members of the supply chain team to manage special projects to support company initiatives.

• Cooperate and support the business strategic units as needed

• Manage production processes including injection molding and general assembly

• Responsible for inventory transfers in a timely manner to ensure stock levels at dependent branches are healthy

• Work directly with the Returns Manager to create and maintain the returns process for all US facilities.

• Create and maintain safety training standards at each facility.

• Organize departmental management structure and teams for optimal and efficient operations.

• Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.

• Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.



• Thorough understanding of plastic injection molding machine operations.

• Understanding of best practices for distribution and manufacturing warehouses.

• Ability to effectively manage and develop employees.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to develop tools and methods for distribution and strategy analysis

• Understanding of state and federal law as it impacts business and warehousing efforts

• Knowledge of and adherence to product and trade compliance standards

• Experience with Asia based supply chain, or other non-US supply chain experience a plus

• Experience with production processes; injection molding and general assembly


Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field

• 10+ years of experience in operations related roles

• 8+ years of experience in a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment

• 8+ years of experience leading other professionals in various operational roles

• Experience in use of lean manufacturing or related tools

• Multi-site management experience

• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and OSHA regulations

• Ability to coordinate and prioritize across multiple projects


Supervisory Responsibility:
One to five direct supervisory responsibilities.


Environmental/Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Warehouse Assistant Manager - Sparks, Nevada


The Warehouse Assistant Manager assists the Warehouse Manager to oversee all shipping activities for the warehouse, and efficiently supervise warehouse staff at AAMP Global’s Nevada warehouse location. This position is a key holder for the Nevada location and responsible for the safekeeping of the Nevada inventory.


Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and assist all shipping activities for the warehouse, and efficiently supervise warehouse staff.

• Maintain physical condition of warehouse through effective planning and positive implementation of new layouts; inspect all existing equipment and issue requests for any needed replacements.

• Heads cycle counts.

• Provide appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safety of employees and product.

• Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, employee timecard submission, employee relations issues, new hire orientation and manage temporary staffing agency relations.

• Ensure consistent operation of the warehouse so products are located and distributed to internal and external consumers in a safe and efficient manner.



• Must be highly self-motivated and capable of effectively motivating others.

• Run the shipping system, pull and pack orders.

• Prior experience in shipping, receiving, and distribution is a plus.

• Superior organizational, mechanical, and critical-thinking abilities are required.

• Must be familiar with OSHA regulations.

• Must have sufficient computer skills required to manage and operate all relevant systems.


Required Education and Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in managing or assisting the management of a warehouse.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position assists in managing the Nevada warehouse staff including temporary employees.


Environmental/Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 80lbs on a regular basis

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
